My son asked me what it takes to be successful in his future career. He currently wants to be an investment banker. Fortunately, one of my friends already is one. Unfortunately, I’m not. He gave me five tips, and we tried them out together.
Intelligence; he’s on track and will do well in his GCSEs.
Rapport; he makes friends easily, maybe too many.
Hunger; he ate half this cake and genuinely asked, “what does it take to be an investment banker?”
Willing; sometimes, not always, but he is a teenager living through a lockdown summer.
Accountability; needs a little work, although he admitted that himself, which probably makes him more accountable than he thinks.
So it looks like he might be able to have his cake and eat it… if he remembers to keep the post-it note.
