A few weeks ago, I switched from funnel marketing to content marketing, using this site, Blah, Blah, Blah, as the new home for my writing. Starting the content hub made me realise how tangled my other sites had become. Two websites. Old messages. Old work. Missing messages. Missing work. A version of me that didn’t match how I help businesses now, reflect the past or show the future.

I thought I should sort out my website. Maybe next year. It felt like one of those jobs that sits at the bottom of the list. The thing you’ll definitely get round to, eventually.

Turns out, it only took four weeks once I stopped avoiding it.

The big untangle came when I started pulling everything together. I’d been running two worlds in parallel. PIN Creative, the company I founded in 2012, and Untangle Your Brand, the methodology and process behind the work. Two sites. Two stories. One person.

All my work has been about untangling brands. Once I saw the thread, the decision was simple. Bring it all together. One site. One way of thinking. Multiple ways of demonstrating that thinking.

One site now holds the whole picture. The projects. The way I work. The tools, stories and side projects that support my branding work.

The build itself is simple.
Content in Notion, so I can easily update anything.
Super, turning those pages into the website you see.
Custom CSS to improve the typography and layout.

Like cobblers and shoes, as business owners, we rarely get around to doing our own marketing. Sometimes you just need to align the pieces and let the thread show. If you are avoiding your own update, this might be the small nudge you need to make a change.

Have a look around the site. And if you are working on your own, I’d love to hear how you’re approaching it.

Enjoy your Quick PINT.

PS Just like painting the Forth Bridge, it’s not finished. There’s more work to add and more articles to dig out. If you spot anything that’s broken, let me know.
