Everyone remembers a World Cup for different reasons.

England '66 — England win. I wasn't born. I've been told this.
Mexico '86 — Maradona's hand of god. Goal of the century 4 minutes later.
Italia '90 — ENGLANDneworder, World in Motion, David Platt's goal against Belgium.
USA '94 — No England, so we supported Ireland. I tried Guinness for the first time.
France '98 — Playing every match on FIFA on the PlayStation.
South Korea and Japan '02 — Going out to Brazil before breakfast in the quarters.

But the one I remember most is Germany 2006.
The year we decided to release a football song.

Seemed like a good idea. But 20 years ago you needed physical releases in stores. But after wrangling with legal issues, pressing and publishing deals, we released "That's England Alright."

Did it get anywhere? Not really.
Was it worth it? Absolutely.

Just watch the video and see how the whole team got involved.

My memory of Germany '06 wasn't Rooney's red card and Ronaldo's wink, or going out to Portugal on penalties. It was a company enjoying being a business together.

Running a business isn't always about doing the sensible thing. Sometimes it's about doing what you want to do. It's your business, not someone else's. If you can't do it when you're in charge, when can you?

Enjoy your Quick PINT
