Yesterday was my birthday.  
56\. Spectacularly unimportant.  
  
It got me thinking about music.

There are songs of teenage dreams and youthful rebellion.  

Born This Way – Lady Gaga  
Sweet Little Sixteen – Chuck Berry  
Teenager in Love – Dion and The Belmonts  
Teenage Kicks – The Undertones  
Forever Young – a-ha  
Young at Heart – The Bluebells  

Tracks reflecting on a life lived, contemplating the end.  

My Generation – The Who  
When I’m Sixty-Four – The Beatles  
Golden Years – David Bowie  
Too Young to Die – Jamiroquai  
Live Forever – Oasis  
Another One Bites the Dust – Queen  
  
But nothing on middle age.  
Midlife. The musical wilderness years.  
  
They say age is just a number.  
But it’s also another year. A reason to celebrate.  
And in my case, a reminder it’s only 13 weeks until Christmas.
